Medan Merdeka Selatan, Jakarta - Director of National Library Muhammad Syarif Bando received a work visit from Prime Secretary of ANRI, Imam Gunarto at Director Meeting Room, 5th Floor, National Library Service Facility Building, Friday (19/6).

Prime Secretary of ANRI, Imam Gunarto conveyed his arrival for the meeting because archives and libraries are two things that cannot be separated. If library has a role to educate the nation, archive saves the nation.

Furthermore, Imam said that currently his party is developing an Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE) in the archival sector. "Our program is to support SPBE, in the field of archivist archives with IT capacity. In addition, we ask for input because currently together with UNESCO, are looking for figures according to the issue raised, namely gender, which will later become Memory of the World (MOW)," he explained .

Meanwhile, Director of National Library, Muhammad Syarif Bando, said that National Library continues to improve so that the management of archives is in accordance with ANRI's regulatory corridors. "National Library already has Perka No. 5 and 6 directly related to archives and security classification systems and access to dynamic archives," he explained.

Syarif expects that in the future there will be cooperation with ANRI, one of which is in the field of digitising archives. "Hopefully this collaboration will continue. Given that archives and libraries are like aircraft with two engines, they must be together to arrive at destination," he hoped.
